Day 1: Cairo

Arrival at Cairo Airport. Meet assistance & transfer to the hotel for check-in & over night stay.

Day 2: Giza

Following breakfast, we leave the hotel to visit The Great Pyramids of Giza (circa. 2,500 B.C.) of Egyptian kings Khufu (in Greek, Cheops) Khafrà (in Greek, Chephren) and Menkaurà (in Greek, Mykerinos) and the Sphinx. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and then continue onwards to visit the step pyramid of Zoser (2,700 B.C.) as designed by the great ancient architect Imhoteb. We will have dinner at a local restaurant and spend overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Cairo – Luxor

Following breakfast, we depart to Cairo Airport for the trip to Luxor (60 min. flight). On arrival, we will be met and transferred to the Nile cruise ship to embark from Luxor to Aswan. In the afternoon, we visit the temples at Luxor and Karnak (the complex of temples built between 1,500 B.C. and 400 B.C. by many Egyptian kings; the most famous being that of Ramses II). We return to the cruise ship and spend overnight on board.

Day 4: Luxor – Edfu

Following breakfast, we visit the Valley of the Kings (the famous tombs of the Pharaohs), Madinat Habu (the site of the temple of Ramses III, the most revered colored temple) & Memnon Colossi. We return to the cruise ship to sail to Edfu, crossing the Lock of Esna. Overnight on board.

Day 5: Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan

Following breakfast, we leave the cruise ship and travel with Hantour (carriage) to visit the Edfu temple (the most complete temple built in the Greek period between 300 and 50 B.C.) Afterwards, we return to the cruise ship to continue sailing onwards to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, we then visit the temple of Kom-Ombo (two temples in one, built in the Greco-Roman period. We return to the cruise ship to sail to Aswan where we spend overnight on board.

Day 6: Aswan

Following breakfast, we visit Philae Temple, also built during the Greco-Roman period. This temple was removed from a flooded island to Agilika Island between 1972 and 1980. We then visit the High Dam of Aswan, built during President Nasser administration between 1960 and 1971. In the afternoon we will enjoy a quiet Felucca sail on the Nile, and then experience a city tour of Aswan, including the traditional market. We return to the cruise ship, where we spend overnight on board.

Day 7: Aswan – Cairo – Bahareya

Following breakfast, we depart to Aswan Airport to fly to Cairo (90 min. flight). Upon arrival, we will have lunch at a local restaurant and then we continue onwards to the Bahareya Oasis (400 Km). We will arrive at the evening. We will have dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Bahareya

Following breakfast, we visit the two ancient tombs in Bahareya (circa. 500 B.C) which were also used in Roman times. We will visit the mummies museum and then travel further to enjoy the magnificent splendor of the desert; first, we will see the Black desert and Agabat desert, and then the White desert where we will take lunch amidst the ethereal shapes of the rock landscape. We return to the hotel in Bahareya where we will have dinner and spend overnight.

Day 9: Bahareya – Cairo

Following breakfast, we continue with our return drive to Cairo. Upon arrival, we will have lunch at a local restaurant and then visit the Egyptian museum. Thereafter, we visit the traditional bazaar of Khan-El-Khalili. We will have dinner at a local restaurant then we return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Cairo – Home

Hotel breakfast is followed by escort to Cairo International Airport for your scheduled return flight home.
