Day 1: Cairo

Arrival at Cairo Airport. Meet assistance & transfer to the hotel for check-in & over night stay.

Day 2: Giza

Following breakfast, we leave the hotel to visit The Great Pyramids of Giza (circa. 2,500 B.C.) of Egyptian kings Khufu (in Greek, Cheops) Khafrà (in Greek, Chephren) and Menkaurà (in Greek, Mykerinos) and the Sphinx. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and then continue onwards to visit the step pyramid of Zoser (2,700 B.C.) as designed by the great ancient architect Imhoteb. We will have dinner at a local restaurant and spend overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Cairo – Old Cairo

Following breakfast, we visit the Egyptian museum. Thereafter, we continue to visit Coptic Cairo and some very old Coptic churches. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and then visit a mosque and the traditional bazaar of Khan-El-Khalili. We will have dinner at a local restaurant and we return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: Cairo – Aswan

Following breakfast we depart to Cairo Airport to fly to Aswan (90 minutes). Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to a Nile cruise ship. We will next visit Philae Temple (from the Greco-Roman period), which was removed, from a flooded island to Agilika Island between 1972 and 1980. We will also visit the High Aswan Dam, built during President Nasser administration between 1960 and 1971. We return to the ship to spend overnight on board.

Day 5: Aswan – Kom Ombo – Edfu

Following breakfast, we will enjoy a quiet Felucca sail on the Nile, and then take a city tour to see the Aswan traditional market. Then, we return to the cruise ship and sail onwards, to visit the temple of Kom-Ombo (two temples in one built in the Greco-Roman period). We return to the cruise ship to sail to Edfu overnight.

Day 6: Edfu – Luxor

Following breakfast, we leave the cruise ship to travel by Hantour (carriage) to visit the temple at Edfu (the most complete example, built in the Greek period between the 300 and 50 B.C.). Thereafter, we continue sailing towards Luxor passing the lock of Esna. In the afternoon, we visit the temples of Luxor and Karnack (the complex of temples built between 1,500 and 400 B.C. by many Egyptian kings, the most famous being that of Ramses II). We return to the cruise ship where we spend overnight on board

Day 7: Luxor – Hurghada

Following an early breakfast, we visit the Valley of the Kings (the location of the famous Pharaoh Tombs), Madinat Habu (the temple of Ramses III, the most revered colored temple) and Memnon Colossi. We will then continue to Hurghada. We will have dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 & 9: Hurghada

We will enjoy free leisure time.

Day 10: Hurghada – Cairo

Following breakfast we will depart to Hurghada Airport to fly to Cairo (60 min. flight). Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to the hotel. We will have free leisure time in the afternoon. We will have dinner at a local restaurant then we return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Cairo – Home

Hotel breakfast is followed by escort to Cairo International Airport for your scheduled return flight home.
